BEKA CALDER

Beka Calder is currently a trainer at Westwinds Farm in West Woodstock, VT. She is an accomplished rider/trainer through the advanced level. In 1991, she finished 5th in the Pan Amarican games aboard "Paws". In 1992, she competed at the North American Young Riders on both the Area I eventing team, and the Region 8 dressage team. Beka took the team and individual gold in eventing, and the team bronze in dressage.

Beka's dressage background developed working with Shelly Francis, and her eventing background is from working with Denny Emerson, with whom she continues to train. She has extensive experience with both young and problem horses.

Westwinds Farm offers lessons, training, coaching at events, a working student program, heated indoor, large outdoor, miles of trails, and a small boarding facility.

ERIN CONTINO

Erin Contino has competed successfully through the Intermediate level and is a graduate “A” pony clubber. She began riding with Denny Emerson at the age of 10 and became a working student for Tamarack Hill Farm in 1996. She went on to manage Tamarack Hill Farm from 2001-2003. Erin’s current mount is the THF owned and home-bred mare, Just Lyndi. Their record together includes 2003 Area I Preliminary Champions, 1st Place Open Intermediate at the 2005 Southern Pines Horse Trials and wins at 50% of all Preliminary Horse Trials entered. Erin is currently in vet school at Colorado State University and is completing a Masters degree in Equine Radiology. She currently teaches and trains out of Loveland, Colorado, at an 80-acre eventing facility. She has trained event horses and riders through the Preliminary level and pony clubbers through the “A” level.

TOM DAVIS

Tom Davis comes from a well-known eventing family in Vermont. With competition mileage through the Intermediate level, he is currently competing homebred youngsters. A student of Denny's since the 1970s, Tom is a USEA ICP Level 2 certified instructor with a reputation for producing quality riders on horses with a correct foundation. Because of this teaching system, his students regularly qualify for Area Championships. During the competition season, he can be found most weekends in the warm-up areas at USEA and schooling events coaching his many students.

JEANETTE FORD

Jeannette Ford has been involved with horses the majority of her life. While she is currently focusing on dressage and eventing along with starting young horses, she has a varied background including: having been awarded colors by two foxhunts, competed internationally in Pony Club Games, started a vaulting team in college, completed numerous 20 and 35 mile pleasure and competitive trail rides, and ridden two working hunters in the Dublin Horse Show. Growing up in Pony Club (with Sally O'Connor as her first DC), she received excellent instruction in riding, stable management, teaching, and safety practices on her way to graduating as an H-A. While developing her Wildwood Farm to become a young horse training center, Jeannette travels to farms in the Triangle to teach and train. She starts youngsters on site at several breeding farms and for individuals seeking help starting their babies. She also teaches and offers training rides on her farm and locally. Early influences include Sally O'Connor, Col Edmonds, Wendy Carlson, and Jonas Irbinskas. She has ridden regularly with Denny Emerson and Jim Koford, and in multiple clinics on multiple horses with Jim Wofford, Artur Kottas, Lucinda Green, Mike Page, and David O'Connor.Georg Theodorescu, Buddy Brown, Linda Allen, Ian Stark, and Bobby Costello have also had a go at shaping her. Much credit to them and several lesser known local trainers for the extensive guidance they have provided.

JENNIFER HOLDER

Jennifer Holder is a certified instructor at Third Charm Training Center in Midland, NC. She is currently competing at Preliminary with her horse Bolivia and preparing to move up to Intermediate in 2008. Students and horses she has trained have competed through Preliminary. She is also a BWFA Certified Farrier and is completing her second Bachelor’s Degree, in Psychology, in May.

ANDREA ST. HILAIRE-GLENN

Andrea began riding at age 3 and competing at age 5, and spent eight years riding hunters and huntseat through the "A" circuit. At age 13, she began eventing, and has successfully trained and competed to Intermediate. She has schooled with internationally renowned riders Denny Emerson, Captain Mark Phillips, Lucinda Green, Jimmy Wofford, and David O'Connor. As a junior rider, Andrea's competition highlights include winning the honor of USCTA (now USEA) Area I High Point Junior Novice Rider and Area I Novice Champion (1999), Area I High Point Junior Training Rider (2000), and Area I High Point Preliminary Young Rider and Area I Preliminary Reserve Champion (2001). In addition, in 2000 Andrea won the title of USCTA National Junior Training Rider of the Year, riding Without Consent. A Massachusetts licensed riding instructor, Andrea taught in New England from May, 2002. As an undergraduate, she was a student instructor in Mount Holyoke College's nationally recognized equestrian program. After a brief hiatus from competition in order to complete undergraduate studies at Mount Holyoke, Andrea is again schooling and campaigning her young horses. Andrea co-owns and operates Glenbaer Farm LLC, a newly established training facility located in Carthage, NC, where she instructs and trains for eventing, jumpers, and dressage. She specializes in giving young horses a strong foundation, and correctly advancing horses and riders to the next level of performance and competition.

MAJOR MARGARET E. THOMAS

Margaret Thomas started riding at Happy Horse Riding School in Davis, California. When she was thirteen, she was a founding member of the newly formed Panache Pony Club and progressed through her C-3 rating before she started college. During her time in Pony Club, Margaret qualified annually for Pony Club Nationals in multiple disciplines. She earned two silver medals in Knowdown and a Gold Medal on the 1992 Nationals West Eventing Team. Margaret earned a BA from Saint Mary’s College of California in Integral Liberal Arts. She spent her junior year abroad at Oxford University. She is a graduate of University of Idaho, College of Law and successfully sat for the 2000 Idaho State bar. Margaret is a Major in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a CH-53E helicopter pilot. She has deployed to Africa and Iraq. Throughout college, law school, and her career in the Marine Corps, Margaret has continued riding, teaching, and training. She has extensive experience starting young horses. She has competed in Hunters, Dressage and Eventing. Her instructors have included Brian Sabo, David Adamo, Herman Koopmans, John Lassetter, Christine Scarlet, and Gina Miles. She currently trains with Michelle Folden, David O’Brien, and Denny Emerson. Her current competition horse is Echo November, a seven year old OTTB.

CHRISTAN TRAINOR

Christan Trainor is a North Carolina-based upper level rider and trainer. To date, her greatest riding accomplishments are being long-listed for the 2004 US Olympic Eventing Team and training the 2007 Pan American Gold winner, Theodore O'Connor, to the Advanced/FEI level prior to Karen O'Connor taking over the ride on the "super pony." Christan was also selected for the USET Developing Rider List in 2000 and won the team silver and individual 6th at the NAYRC 2-star in 1999. She has developed several horses to the FEI levels including Ticket To Ride, Theodore O'Connor, and Good Fortune.
