We have four schooling horse trials scheduled for 2009, two in Southern Pines and two in
Strafford. The levels offered are maiden or elementary, beginner novice and novice, and the
difficulty of the cross country courses are meant to be on the straightforward side for the
levels, with easier options at the more challenging jumps. The terrain in both places is hilly.
Each farm has a very full array of types of fences, including banks, ditches, and water in
addition to the “usual fare” of verticals and oxers. However, we will not use any jumps in the
lower levels which should overface any horses and riders who have entered the appropriate level.
Here is an opportunity to compete in a low key atmosphere over well built courses, and, (at least
weather permitting!) over good footing.
If there is any question about the weather, please check this web site (home and this page)
for changes or postponements.
We always need about 20 volunteers to run these events and would really appreciate a call or
email from anyone who can offer to help.
